What is this website all about, and who is behind it all?
Well, the first part is easily explained: it is about anything that captures my attention, and that I like to share with the world. Take it as a sort of personal, though publicly available notebook. As for the second half: I am proud to be Dutch, living in London since 2010. Read more about both on my other pages: Netherlands and London.
My being Dutch is of course also going to be my excuse for any spelling or grammatical error I no doubt will make… Although I do know that it is correct to say “my Mum and I are coming”. I even had to correct one of my British friends on this, who used “me and my Mum”: wrong order (who said the British are so polite…?) and use of incorrect personal pronoun…
As the website title already suggests, I like knitting, but do other things as well. Expect to hear (well, read) about it all. One of the plans is to write about my walking along the Thames in London: from Hampton Court to Woolwich. Not all in one day… it took me several Saturday afternoons and holidays, but it was great fun to discover London’s different areas. I also hope to use this forum to share my experiences of my upcoming holiday in Australia later this year DV.
Finally… about the name of this website: Girl Often Knits… Part of the registration plate of my car is “GOK”, and my friends used Girl Only Knits to remember it. Since I indeed like knitting very much, and intend to share some of this, but do more than just knitting, I thought a slight variation on the theme would work nicely as webpage address…
